Osteopathic Cranial-Sacral Technique | 人體結構及骨骼調整 - 顱骶技巧

 — Usable technique. Self-help, or professional advancement.

Osteopathic technique is built to be used.

The aim is application — something you can practise on yourself, and something a practitioner can take into professional work. Self-help and professional advancement are two uses of the same hands-on work.

Understanding Osteopathy is a free educational demonstration of different osteopathic techniques. Osteopathic Cranial-Sacral Technique is one of those techniques.

Two courses sit here:
• Basic Self-Help — Light hands are taught, not born. Welcome with no background. Also welcome if you already finished Upledger CST1 and want the technique to land in the hands.

Six Saturdays from 7 Nov 2026, 16:00–18:00. HK$6,500 / early bird HK$6,000 (15 Oct 2026).

• Advanced Practical —Twenty-two bones. One language. The next usable layer: bones, mouth work, case reasoning. Prerequisite: this Basic Self-Help or Upledger CST1.

Dates TBC; waitlist. HK$8,000 / early bird HK$7,500.

After Basic you may continue with our Advanced Course, with Upledger CST1, or with both. If the goal is an Upledger certificate we do not run CST1 or CST2; we can refer you to Upledger CST1 / CST2 in Hong Kong or Singapore.

⚠ Disclaimer - Educational course only. Not medical treatment, diagnosis or an Upledger certificate. Hands-on care, if booked later, is a separate clinical booking.

Osteopathic Cranial-Sacral Technique: Basic Self-Help Course

Light hands are taught, not born.

Most hands-on methods get results by pressing harder. Cranial-Sacral work here does the opposite: about 5 grams of pressure — the weight of a coin — to feel a subtle rhythm. The method comes from osteopathy (Dr. A.T. Still, Dr. W.G. Sutherland, Dr. John E. Upledger). The hard part is the touch itself. Five grams cannot be learned from a book, a video, or the back row. Someone has to feel your hands and adjust them.

Class size 4–8. In every session Manual Osteopath Dr. PC Lam works with each student in turn. Six Saturday afternoons: safety and quality of touch → rhythm from feet to head → release and still point → the 12-step self-help protocol. Education and complementary self-care only

Why This?

1. Small class of 4–8: in every session the instructor adjusts your hand position, contact and pressure, one student at a time
2. Quality of touch and quiet presence come before technique
3. Taught from the osteopathic source: three lenses of structure, fluid and rhythm
4. Six weekly steps with practice in every session, ending with the full 12-step sequence
5. Taught in person by Manual Osteopath Dr. PC Lam
6. Next: Upledger CST1 and/or AWRTC Advanced. This page does not issue Upledger certificates.

Benefits

After six weeks you can:
• Feel the craniosacral rhythm at heels, pelvis, ribs, shoulders and head, and describe it with SQAR (symmetry, quality, amplitude, rate)
• Use a steady 5-gram touch, personally tuned: grounded and neutral, listening instead of pushing
• Recognise signs of a release (softening, warmth, fluid-moving sense, a deep breath) and wait
• Guide a still point
• Carry out the 12-step self-help protocol from feet to head
• Explain in plain words how meninges, CSF and fascia link head and sacrum
• Know the limits: when not to apply the work, when to stop, when to send someone to a doctor
• Keep a short daily self-care practice
You receive: personal hand tuning each session; AWRTC certificate on passing the oral exam; eligibility for the Advanced Course.

Science

1. Teaching frame: dura, cerebrospinal fluid and related bones from skull to sacrum
2. Very light touch to sense a subtle rhythm and to encourage a rest-and-repair response
3. Research on CST is still developing and results are mixed; this course is educational and complementary, and makes no treatment claims
4. Classroom anatomy: meninges / reciprocal tension membrane; dural tube attachments; CSF; fascia and transverse diaphragms

Who It's For?

1. Welcome for all; no craniosacral background needed
2. Also welcome after Upledger CST1 if you want the skill to land
3. Bodyworkers adding a light-touch skill
4. Age 18+; techniques taught for use on people aged 7+
5. Serious or acute issues, pregnancy, chronic illness: ask a doctor before enrolling
6. See “How to choose” for the path
