Jin Shin Jyutsu is explained metaphysically as a physio-philosophy or art that harmonizes the flow of universal life energy within the body using gentle hand placements, without force or manipulation. The practice is based on the concept that energy circulates through pathways or meridians, and that blockages in these flows—caused by physical, emotional, or spiritual disbalance—can lead to discomfort or illness.

The Metaphysical Framework

Jin Shin Jyutsu is fundamentally about reconnecting the individual with the universal energy (sometimes referred to as “chi,” “ki,” or “prana”), aiming for harmony between the self and the universe, and awakening consciousness of this unity.

The metaphysical roots also suggest that emotions and attitudes (such as fear, anger, sadness, worry) influence energy flows, and harmonizing these can impact health at physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

From a metaphysical standpoint, Jin Shin Jyutsu understands health as a state of energetic harmony reflecting deeper unity with universal consciousness, and illness as a manifestation of energy disruptions at both physical and non-physical levels.

What Are The Safety Energy Locks (SELs)?

The body is seen as an energy system where 26 “safety energy locks” act as junctions or circuit breakers. When energy is blocked at these points, symptoms arise. Practitioners use their hands as “jumper cables” to harmonize and restore natural energy flow, assisting but not generating the energy themselves.

  • Safety Energy Locks are 26 specific energy points located on each side of the body. Jin Shin Jyutsu identifies these points as key junctions within the body's energy pathways.
  • Function as "Circuit Breakers": The SELs as acting like the body's "circuit breakers". When the body's vital energy flow is disrupted or becomes stagnant—due to stress, illness, or emotional imbalance—these locks can "close" as a protective measure.

– Master energy regulation at hand and foot extremities (finger/toe bridging techniques) focusing on deep energy harmony; experience the profound philosophy of Jin Shin Jyutsu and achieve holistic harmony of body, mind, and spirit
